Zimowe tereny do Frostgrave [Frostgrave winter terrain]

Frostgrave nęci coraz bardziej, zbliżająca się zima tylko to potęguje (przeprowadzka poza Warszawę skutkuje tym, że rankiem zdarza mi się wyjść w padający śnieg). Z tej okazji tereny, które do tej pory zbierały tylko kurz, postanowiłem nieco ośnieżyć.
Frostgrave seduces more and more, the upcoming winter only intensifies this feeling (consequence of moving out of Warsaw are morning with falling snow). On this occasion I've decided to frost terrains that have so far collected only dust.

 

 

Zimowa chata [Winter cabin]

 Domków do Muskets & Tomahawks mam już całkiem sporo (3 chatki, kościół, koszary i magazyn na proch), ale zawsze pozostaje niedosyt. Od dłuższego czasu kusiło mnie, by przygotować nieco terenów do starć zimą. Wiele się wtedy zmienia! Bezlistne drzewa nie dają takiej osłony w inne pory roku. Zalegający wszędzie śnieg, który utrudnia poruszanie się. Z drugiej strony zamarznięte rzeki i strumienie stanowią świetną sieć komunikacyjną!
 I've already had some huts for Muskets & Tomahawks  (3 cabins, church, barracks and storehouse for gunpowder), but it's always hunger for more. For a long time it tempted me to prepare some terrain for winter clashes. Lots of things is different then! Leafless trees do not provide sufficient cover. Snow lays everywhere making difficult to move around. On the other hand, frozen rivers and streams made an excellent communication network!

Francuskie chaty [French cabins]

Muskets & Tomahawks jest ostatnio moim ulubionym systemem bitewnym i z wielką przyjemnością poświęcam temu projektowi każdą sprzyjającą chwilę. Jestem szczerze zafascynowany XVIII wiekiem i bawi mnie wszystko, co związane z naszym małym projektem, mimo przychodzą momenty, kiedy ostatnią rzeczą jaką się chce, jest malowanie.

Muskets & Tomahawks is my favorite wargame recently and I dedicate this project my every moment I could afford. I am truly fascinated by the eighteenth century and I truly enjoy, but sometimes the last thing you want, is painting.

Stół do Ronina [Table for Ronin]

Ostatni wpis był dawno, dawno temu. Nie znaczy to jednak, że nic od tego czasu nie robiłem. Wprost przeciwnie. Po prostu nie było czasem okazji, niekiedy aparatu, a zdarzało się, że i zwykłych chęci brakło, by wrzucić efekty pracy. Jak zwykle rozgrzebałem kilka projektów i nie zanosi się, bym je szybko skończył.

The last post was published a long time ago. This doesn't mean that I've done nothing since then. There was simply no occasion, sometimes lack of camera, and even absence of desire to show effects of work. As usual I've started several projects and it looks like, they won't be finished soon.

Opisywany w tym wpisie stół jest na szczęście wyjątkiem :) Zrobiłem go chyba 2 lata temu pod kątem Umbry Turris, stąd dość nietypowe wymiary: 70x70 [cm] (jakieś 28x28 cali). Kiedy rok później chciałem go ostatecznie wykończyć zdarzył się mały wypadek: zatkała mi się farbka Vallejo i zamiast udrożnić kanalik szpilką, ściskałem buteleczkę na siłę. W końcu cały wkraplacz wyleciał i farba rozprysła się po całym stole, zostawiając piękne białe smugi. Wydawało mi się, że stolik pójdzie do śmieci, ale bezpiecznie przeleżał na zapleczu Wilczej.

Table, described in this entry, is fortunately an exception :) I made it two years ago for Umbra Turris wargame, hence the rather unusual dimensions: 70x70 [cm] (about 28x28 inches). One year later I wanted to ad a final touch and little accident happened: Vallejo paint was choked and instead of uchok it with a pin, I  squeez the bottle with all my strength. Funnel flew out and paint splashed all over the table, leaving a beautiful white streaks. It seemed to me that the table will go to waste, but it safely lay at the back of the Wargamer on Wilcza.

Tereny - mokradła z szuwarami [Terrains - wetlands with rushes]

Aby nadać krajobrazowi pola bitwy nieco koloru przydaje się woda. Już jakiś czas temu zabrałem się za małe bajorko. Przyciąłem odpowiedni kawałek tektury i zapiaskowałem brzegi oraz małe fragmenty gruntu na środku. W takim stanie przeleżało to około pół roku.

Water is very usefult to give landscape of the battlefield a bit of color. Some time ago I started making a small puddle. I cut a piece of cardboard and put some sand on  edges and small pieces of land in the middle. It's been stored in this state for about half a year.

Tereny - płoty [Terrain - fences]

Następne na warsztacie znalazły się płoty. To chyba mój ulubiony element terenu! Są proste w budowie, łatwe w przechowywaniu i w transporcie, ciężko je zniszczyć, na polu bitwy nie przeszkadzają za bardzo, bo są małe, więc wszędzie można je wcisnąć i dopasować, dodają +50 do wyglądu stołu oraz do możliwości taktycznych naszych sił.
Next on the workbench were fences. This is probably my favorite part of terrain! They are easy to build, easy to store and transport, hard to damage, don't "overcowd" battlefield, because are small and fit everywhere, add +50 to the look of the table and to tactical capabilities of our forces.

Tereny - górka i skałki [Tarrain - hill and rocks]

Jak już Yori przy okazji prezentacji Mohawków napisał, zabieramy się za tematykę wojny francuskiej indiańskiej na terytorium Ameryki Północnej (Jeden z teatrów działań Wojny Siedmioletniej - zasadniczo pierwszej wojny światowej, gdzie walki odbywały się w Europie, Ameryce i Azji. Szalenie ciekawy okres i pewnie kilka wyłącznie historycznych postów jeszcze zdążę popełnić)
W tej chwili czekamy jeszcze na zamówione figurki. Yoriemu nie wyszedł test Siły Woli i kupił sobie nie planowanych Indian z Conquest'a.

Yori have just said during inauguration of the Mohawks we are going to take some action in a French Indian War in North America (one of the Seven Years War operations theathre - essentially the truly first World War, where the fighting took place in Europe, America and Asia. Extremely interesting time, and probably I will make a few historical posts about it)
At the moment we are waiting for ordered Northstar miniatures. Yori failed Willpower test and bought not planned Indian from Conquest.
